Company History:
American Pride Associates is a not-for-profit organization designed to assist American Military Veterans and their families in need. It was founded by President, LaMont M. Grodeck, a disabled U.S. Army Veteran, and Secretary/Treasurer, Cheryl K. Grodeck, L.P.N.
The organization’s Founder and President, LaMont Grodeck, is a disabled U.S. Army Veteran. After his service in the U.S Army, LaMont, known to all as “Monty”, became frustrated with fighting the Government to receive Disability Benefits while living on the streets. He decided to create funds for himself and others in similar situations by making American Flag pins fashioned from glass beads and safety pins. Monty became the man to go to if you needed help on the streets and he always found a way to lend a helping hand to those in need. His ability to perform outreach throughout the homeless and veteran community led him to start American Pride Associates, NFP.
Cheryl Grodeck, L.P.N. is a nurse who has dedicated her life to assisting those in need. She is also the daughter of WWII Veteran, Lt. Cmdr. David L. Flynn, U.S.N. who lived from 1918-1993 and proudly served as a Civil Engineer with the US Navy for 25 years. Her pride for him and his service to our country live on in her work with American Pride Associates, NFP.
American Pride Associates incorporated as a not for profit organization in September, 2002. We continued to provide assistance to the Homeless and Homeless Veterans of the Thurston, Mason, Pierce, and LewisCounty areas, through sales of flag pins and other American patriotic and novelty products.
Over the years we have been lucky to be able to provide assistance to thousands in need. We provide clothing, sleeping bags, camping supplies, personal care items, socks, winter wear, food, support, minor medical care, jobs and job training. We currently serve approximately 1500 Homeless Veterans, Individuals and Families throughout Thurston, Mason, Lewis & PierceCounties. Of the many veterans we assist, the following were willing to allow us to provide their names for acknowledgement.
American Pride Associates also values supporting community events throughout South Puget Sound. We have attended various locations, shows and fairs including Olympia, WA\\\'s Lakefair, Puyallup, WA\\\'s Western Washington State Fair, swap meets in Tacoma, Veterans Celebrations, Military send-offs, local charity events (such as Toy Runs) local bazaars and other events in the Mason, Pierce, Lewis, and Thurston County, WA areas. We intend to expand our locations as well as those whom we assist yearly.
